Birdy was born at an early age - to the sound of an accordion… and his love of Polka was born with him.

Not satisfied with settling for merely central European dance music as the solitary source of his musical affections he matured somewhat and spread his harmonious wings a little further. Thereafter he discovered many melodious stones that he enjoyed looking under, some of these ambiguous experimental boulders included:

Ska, Reggae, Funk, Disco, Blues, Boogie, Soul, Jazz, Gospel, Swing, Hip Hop, New Jack Swing, Bossa, Rare Groove, Electro, R&B, Garage and House to name but a few! It’s because of this that his collection of music has become quite diverse – eclectic even - and far too heavy to carry around…

Q. What do his shows embody I hear you ask…?

A. Music, celebrated in all it’s forms – pure and simple.

He likes to express himself by way of using a tune, melody or song to create a journey. He philosophises that that a radio shows’ purpose is to both entertain and challenge the listener’s ‘comfort-zone’ in equal quantities. If his show was a magic carpet ride it would include taking in some destinations that you may never have considered…. Somewhere like Norwich maybe…

It’s his guess that the ‘connoisseur constabulary’ will certainly take a dim view of his collection of covers and re-edits – but he will endeavour to change their minds by playing tracks that more than make up for his transgressions!!!

So, if you like your shows a little more conventional then PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT MONDAYS BETWEEN 6-8PM (GMT) MAY NOT BE THE SHOW FOR YOU. But if you are stirred by the notion that a congruent style twinned with a passion for introducing new themes then Birdy’s show could be just what you are looking for - and he certainly looks forward to your company…
