ABOUT THE DJ

Hi Funky people,

Allow me to introduce myself. My Name is Dave Marley. Also known on the scene as Morpher, Morph, Guv and Addictive. I am responsible for the launch of three online radio stations. The first being Morpher Radio, which evolved into this one, my second station, JFSR (Jazz Funk Soul Radio) and the third being DnB Liquified (Drum n Bass Radio) www.dnb-liquified.co.uk

I am now 48 years "young" and I live in Hastings, East Sussex. I have always had a real passion for music since as far back as I can remember. I have been living my own personal dream for the last 35 years DJ'ing since 1983. Over the last 40 years I have built up a large collection of Vinyl and CD's. In my collection you would find anything from The Beatles to Pink Floyd, from Elvis Presley to The Eagles, from Nat King Cole to Luther Vandross

I run my own mobile disco business for a living which originally started back in 1983. Over the years I have DJ'ed in hundreds of Clubs, Pubs and private venues all over London. More recently spread my DJing talent across greater London and all along the south coast. I have a great knowledge of all types of music, ranging from the 50's to current modern day chart music. I don't really enjoy too much of what modern day commercial chart music has to offer but in my profession it is a requirement

So, what have I been up to over the last 3 decades? I was resident DJ at the Ann Boleyn Hotel in Staines Middlesex in the late 80's to the mid 90's which at the time was a very popular night with the locals and used to attract many people every Friday and Saturday night. I was also resident DJ for Spearmint Rhino gentleman's club in Colnbrook, Surrey for 10 years. I also still enjoy playing Drum 'n' Bass and Old Skool Rave when I get the chance

In the early to mid 90s I played on a pirate radio station based in West London called Zone FM. I use the alias name "DJ Addictive" or later "Addictive" when playing Drum n Bass then, and even now. Over the last 20 years, the Internet has given me so much information and knowledge behind what I do, I felt it was time I gave the internet something back. So this is part of what I gave back. JFSR (Jazz Funk Soul Radio) now 5 years old. Previously Known as Morpher Radio which ran 3 years previous to JFSR.

We have some raw talent on JFSR when it comes to DJs and presenters. Some who like me have been in the game of many years, others who are dabbling their hand in the world of presenting for the first time in their lives. But all sharing their passion for Jazz Funk Soul and Disco music from the past, to the present

My weekly show was originally know as "The Vinyl Morpher Show" which over time progressed into the show I present today called "The Experience". My real passion is to Mix, or Get "In the Mix", sometimes using modern DJ software like Serato, but also love to keep true to the art of Mixing and use my Vinyl, the "Old Skool" way

One thing I have learnt over the last 8 years of presenting my own Jazz Funk Soul radio show. You will never stop learning about this mamouth genre. Just as you fool yourself into believing you know all there is to know about Jazz Funk and Soul, bammmmmm!! Another door opens, you discover another road, leading you further down that funky and soulful path, and then realise just how little you actually know. You can never stop learning, and never know enough

DJ's that have influenced me over the years are Robbie Vincent, Tony Blackburn, Chris Hill, Jeff Young (The late greats) Froggy & Steve Walsh. Most importantly and man that I have followed since the 70s, and today I am proud to call him my friend... The legend, Gregg Edwards

My personal thanks goes out to every DJ past and present that have given up their own time to present their own show on JFSR and Morpher Radio over the last 8 years whom without none of this would have been possible. Also to Martin Tiller aka Gem @ Krell Freelance Technology (http://www.krellft.co.uk) for his breath-taking web designs over the years, the creator and technician behind the JFSR websites including this new one, you are looking at right now

Finally, to sum me up... I live, sleep, eat, drink, breath love and need music ... Always have, always will

KTF !! AND PLAY IT LOUD !!!! OHHH YEAHHHHH !!!!
