Hi all,

My name is Eddy van Loo and I live in Holland at a place called Goes in the province of Zeeland. Firstly I would like to thank Dave Marley and the team for letting me join the JFSR family and for giving me the opportunity to broadcast my selection of music and letting me reach out to all you Jazz, Funk, Soul fans and music lovers everywhere.

I was born in 1961, so now 53 years old turning 54 in January, and started to Dj at the age of 12 playing pop music and the Top 40 hits, what would now be considered classics, on my own local pirate radio station. This all came about when I listened in a basement on an old car radio to a station called The Soul Show which was presented by a Dj called Ferry Maat which kick started my love for Soul, Funk and Disco music. At around the same time I took up playing the Bass Guitar, following in the footsteps of my Uncle who played in a band. It was here that I later became to appreciate playing bass to Funk, Soul and Disco music.

I have played/dj-ed in several club venues here in Holland between 82 to 88 during which I learnt and taught myself how to mix starting with the main source of sound production available which was spinning vinyls on turntables. I have also worked as a Dj at various Pirate Radio Stations. I learnt about JFSR in the summer of 2014 whilst browsing YouTube clips from VinylMorpher, who is of course Dave Marley. I joined the chat room, which is where I spend all of my spare time, and have made and had the pleasure of making many new friends that share the same passion of music as me.

This is where I decided, with help and a lot of encouragement especially by Davy Tee , to present my show The Funk Suite which is currently broadcast live on Saturday afternoons between 2pm and 4pm GMT. So come and get Funked and join me there in celebrating the best in Jazz, Funk, Soul and Disco. Besides if it ain’t BASSY, it ain’t FUNKY.
