Hi All,

I’m Mark but I gained the name of DJ Len about 10 years ago courtesy of my brother-in-law.  I started DJing in 1978 after joining the RAF and being posted to bonny Scotland, where it seemed that my love and knowledge of music filled a void.  I continued to DJ through the early 80s in Germany, but after that the DJing took a back seat as married life became more important and the RAF moved me around a lot.  Then along came our two daughters and you all know how time consuming children can be!

Early in the naughties I started playing music at Basketball events alongside my MC brother-in-law Simon.  We formed FunkyTown Entertainments and went from strength to strength, including touring with the Harlem Globetrotters, National Finals and Team GB events culminating in us both being at the London 2012 Basketball competition, where I have the distinction of playing Freeeze and Aswad during the Men’s Final to an estimated TV audience of 1 billon people!

While all this was going on, I returned to mobile DJing in 2008 and have been a stand-in at a couple of clubs in Northampton.  I have never tried radio DJing before and thank Dave Marley for giving me this wonderful opportunity and would also like to thank the many members of the JFSR family that I have met for their words of encouragement.  And finally to the many friends who know the music I listen to, who have given me the support and final kick in the butt to make ‘this dream a reality’!  Join me on Tuesday afternoons from 4-6pm and please come and say hello in the Chatroom
