Hi all,

My name is Rod G, I was born in South Essex in 1965 but now reside in deepest Norfolk, my introduction into Soul music was at the early Caister Soul Weekends where I worked behind the bar for two years !!! My heroes at the time where Jeff Young, Pete Tong, Chris Brown and of course Froggy. I also greatly admired Robbie Vincent and remembering spending one amazing afternoon working behind the bar at Caister while listening to Robbie Vincent broadcast his live radio show from the venue

I first started spinning the tunes in 1983 at a nightclub in Norwich after spending 6 months apprenticeship on lights and as a general dogsbody hehe. Was lucky enough to have regular work in clubs until the early 90s , playing mainly soul funk and disco , but in the late eighties became influenced by the Rave seen to an extent. Soul music was always my love but also became interested in House music and its genres . The mid 90s I had a break from DJing while starting a family (now have two beautiful daughters Alice and Lily). Around the millennium got back into  the Music and now DJ in and round Norfolk for Richard Routledge (Richards Parties) and have our own little crew in Norwich known as Soul In The Fine City

Feel so privileged to have been asked to present a show on JFSR , I have known and listened to the station for years and always seen it as one of the respected and quality Soul stations. So cheers to Dave Marley and the crew
